Pharrell Engages With PETA Protestor Who Interrupted His Movie Premiere

During the premiere of Pharrell Williams’ Lego biopic, Piece by Piece, at the Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday night (September 10), a PETA protestor disrupted the event’s Q&A session. The animal rights activist was holding a sign stating, “Pharrell: Stop Supporting Killing Animals for Fashion,” singling out Williams for serving as men’s creative director at Louis Vuitton, who use animal fur and leather in their clothing. Pharrell tried to reason with the protestor, who was chanting at him, “Pharrell stop torturing animals,” telling them, “You’re right, you’re right. Yes, I have.” After security removed the protester, Williams told the audience that he is instituting change at Louis Vuitton. “That is not necessarily the way to do it. But that’s OK,” he said. “When that change comes, everybody in this room will remember that I told you we are actually working on that. And if she would’ve just asked me, I would’ve told her.” (Rolling Stone)
