A biopic on Boy George is currently in development by TriStar Pictures, with J.C. Lee (How To Get Away With Murder, Girls, The Morning Show) tapped to write the screenplay for the film. Lee will adapt the screenplay from Boy George’s trio of autobiographies, Take It Like A Man, Straight, and Karma, while focusing on the chart-topping early 80s years of Culture Club. The biopic is still in early development, and because Primary Wave Music owns the rights to the songs of Culture Club and Boy George, the film will include their memorable hits from the era. The movie will be produced by Oscar winning producer Cathy Schulman (Crash), George’s manager Paul Kemsley, Jeremy M. Rosen, and Kevin King Templeton along with Primary Wave Music. Boy George himself will serve as executive producer of the biopic on his life and music career. (Deadline)
