Koe Wetzel has made a generous donation of $15,000 to his former school district in his hometown of Pittsburg, Texas. This is the country star’s sixth annual donation to the Pittsburg Independent School District, where Wetzel graduated from in 2011 and where the singer’s mother currently works. His benevolent donation is to ensure that every student is equipped with educational tools and classroom items that they need for the start of the school year. $5,000 of Wetzel’s donation is earmarked for the schools’ athletics program, while the remaining $10,000 will go towards providing the students with necessary school supplies, snacks, clothing, and shoes.

“He doesn’t want anybody to go without. Doesn’t want anybody to walk in without new clothes,” Julie Wetzel said of her son. “He’s a sweet boy and has a heart of gold.” Wetzel released his new album, 9 Lives, back on July 19. And his Damn Near Normal World Tour in support of the record continues with a sold-out show in Boston on Wednesday, August 28. (Country Now)
