Beyoncé has become the latest celebrity to launch her own alcohol brand. The 32-time Grammy Award-winner has partnered with Moët Hennessy to craft her very own whisky, which she has named in honor of her great-grandfather, Davis Hogue, who was a successful moonshiner during the Prohibition-era in the American South. Beyoncé revealed her SirDavis whisky on Monday (August 19), which retails online for $89 and is described as a “harmony of spice with sublime hints of fruit.” SirDavis is currently only available for pre-order, but will eventually be sold in stores in the U.S., London, Paris and Tokyo, along with select airports, beginning in September.
“I’ve always been drawn to the power and confidence I feel when drinking quality whisky and wanted to invite more people to experience that feeling,” Beyoncé said in a statement. She also shared her news on Instagram, posing with a glass of her whisky and showing off the stylish, horse-adorned bottle that is reminiscent of her Renaissance and Cowboy Carter album covers. Beyoncé captioned the post, “🥃 DAVIS IN MY BONES 🥃.” (Billboard)
