Post Malone went without his trusty cigarettes, Bud Lights, and foul mouth during his Grand Ole Opry debut on Wednesday night (August14). Posty kept things clean throughout his special appearance in the hallowed circle on the Opry’s legendary stage. “I’m not gonna cuss. I’m having the freaking best time of my life that I’ve had,” Post said during the performance, even joking, “This is apple juice,” after taking a sip from the red Solo cup onstage. “Have I cussed already?” he asked someone offstage halfway through his set. “Just once? Nah, just one is fine I think. I’m on my best behavior tonight, ladies and gentlemen.” The lone curse word came early in Post’s set, after telling the crowd how much he loved them he encouraged the audience to “keep kicking a–.”

Though that mild language was technically a violation of the Opry’s strict standards, the sentiment behind it was rather endearing. Post Malone was joined by an array of country legends during his Opry debut, playing with Vince Gill, John Michael Montgomery, Lainey Wilson, Brad Paisley, and the War and Treaty during his 7-song set.
