The complete list of nominations for the 2024 People’s Choice Country Awards were announced on Wednesday (August 14), with Zach Bryan leading all artists in total nominations with 19 nods. Beyoncé is right behind him with 17 nominations, followed by Kacey Musgraves (15), Shaboozey (12), Kane Brown and Morgan Wallen (11 each) and Luke Combs (10). Three of the top six nominees are Black artists, a positive sign of progress at a modern country music awards show. The second annual People’s Choice Country Awards will be hosted by Shania Twain and is set to air live on September 26 on NBC and Peacock.
“Country has some of the most passionate fans in music and us artists are so lucky to be supported in doing what we love,” said Twain in a statement. “I am honored to host an award show that celebrates these awesome fans.” At the inaugural 2023 ceremony, Jelly Roll was the big winner with four awards, followed by Wallen with three, while Toby Keith was honored with the country icon award just a few months before his death in February.
