Chappell Roan was a big draw for this year’s Lollapalooza festival, but no one knew exactly how huge she was going to be until videos and images started to circulate on social media capturing the enormous crowd that gathered for her set. Roan certainly played for the largest afternoon crowd in the festival’s history, and quite possibly the largest Lolla crowd ever. “Chappell’s performance was the biggest daytime set we’ve ever seen. It was a magical moment added to Lolla’s DNA,” a Lollapalooza spokesperson told CNN. Two additional sources close to the festival said that Roan’s set rivaled headliner attendance numbers and is most likely one of Lollapalooza’s most watched sets of all time. 110,000 fans attended the Chicago festival each day, with Roan’s set moved from a scheduled smaller side stage to the big stage to accommodate demand.
